#1 BandzBoiz v YMBA | Full Game Highlights | April 7 2024 | D1 (All-Star) Season 1

YMBA came into this weeks game winless and with the worst record in the league. GM Sam Hui had seen enough. He dove head first into the free agent market and made 2 of the most pivotal trades this league has seen. And after seeing them play together for the first time, Hui has my vote for GM of the Year. You can give him the award now!

BandzBoiz came into the game undefeated and alone atop the rankings at 3 and 0. Maybe they looked at the schedule and saw winless YMBA as food. They came out ice-cold to start the game. 1 for 9 from 3 to start and without the inside presence of 2nd ranked player Yadel Hedego, they kept chucking them up.

the new look YMBA had something to prove going against the number 1 team in the league... and it showed. In his first game with the team, Nate Murray got off to a sizzling start with 9 of the teams first 12 points.

But even with the hot start by YMBA, BandzBoiz leads midway through the first half 18-14. I mean, this is the number one team in the league we're talking about. And BandzBoiz is number 1 for a reason. But things are going YMBA'S way. Kory Duff-King with the accidental tip put back here to cut it to a 2 point game.

YMBA has some new toys but lets not forget their center-piece. you know, the leading scorer in the league at 28.3 points per game. the 7th ranked player in the entire league. Greyson Lewis

And winless YMBA has their first halftime lead of the season! 38-32 But relax, this is first place BandzBoiz, still another half to play.

No. 5 ranked Chancellor Hilliard gets BandzBoiz started early in the second half, showing off the midrange game.

But when it's your day. Did I just see a charge in rec ball?! I love it! [i mean, this IS the NBA experience]

YMBA led by as many as 12 in the second half. But the No. 1 team in the league will not go away. Gunther here with thee monster rebound and put-back to cut it to a 5 point lead.

15th rank Sarbatt Singh with the tough side-step 3 here to keep things close. I mean BandzBoiz is no. 1 for a reason, they have some players. YMBA got everything they asked for. Robert Wright cuts the lead to 5 here with the drive. Next possession Hilliard with the hesitation and finish to cut it to 3 with under a minute to go.

Down 5 BandzBoiz gets what they need when Michael Shinaul misses the front-end of a 1 and 1. They race up the court searching for a good look on a 3. and who else but Gunther with the three! He is the 8th ranked player in the league but i don't think 3 pointers are the reason he is ranked so high.

The lead is 2 with seconds left in the game and Shinaul is back to the line for more clutch free throws. He calmly knocks down both to give YMBA their first win of the season against the no 1 team in the league.

When asked was this a statement game, a player who would prefer to remain anonymous said "We wanted to put the league on notice."
